Stig Arve Meådal
Local host, landowner and nature guide with close knowledge of the valley, access, winter conditions and the hide area.
Meet the local people, farm setting and wildlife knowledge behind a small golden eagle photography stay in Central Norway.
Meådal is a small local setup shaped by the land, practical guest hosting and specialist knowledge of golden eagle behaviour.
Local host, landowner and nature guide with close knowledge of the valley, access, winter conditions and the hide area.
Nature guide and booking contact who helps guests understand dates, travel, equipment, cabin routines and the practical stay.
Ornithologist and eagle behaviour specialist contributing regional bird knowledge and a responsible wildlife perspective.
Meådal is a small, locally operated experience, not a large tour operation. Guests book close to the people who run the stay, and more of the value remains with the local farm, hosts and ongoing hide work.
The Red Cabin and established hides are close together, and practical support comes from people who know the land, the access and the winter routine. Golden eagles are wild birds, so sightings and photographic opportunities can never be guaranteed.

Wildlife photographer Svein Wik, founder of Arctic Wildlife Tours, helped introduce golden eagle photography at Meådal and develop the original hides together with Stig Arve Meådal.
His long experience in wildlife photography helped establish the professional roots of the offer. Today, booking, hosting and local guest support are handled by the Meådal team.
Meådal is built around a real local setting: farm access, a simple cabin base, established hide routines and winter conditions that shape every day. Guests get a quiet, authentic stay close to the people responsible for the place, not a packaged mass-tourism route.
Meådal is at Flornes in central Norway, around 30 minutes by car from Trondheim Airport Værnes. Guests can reach the area easily while staying in a quiet rural landscape close to the Red Cabin and photography hides. On arrival, the guide takes guests from the farm to the Red Cabin and hide area, shows the practical setup, and brings guests back to the farm after the stay.
